Dear Co-workers in Christ
I strongly believe that strong leaders build strong Churches for Christ. It is my desire to train and equip the leaders with sound biblical knowledge and skills. We had Leadership Seminar on the 5th to 9th of May at Siachilaba. The Seminar was attended by all the pastors and their wives. We had inspiring lessons and great discussions. At the end of the seminar, we received great remarks from the leaders expressing how beneficial the lessons were. There was renewed commitment among the leaders for God’s work. We also discussed on writing a constitution for our Mission. Our Government wants all the Churches, organizations and institutions to have constitutions.
We have just resumed our crusades. Our first Crusade was on the 28th to 31st of May at Chibanda. Our goal is fulfill the great commission of our Lord; spreading the gospel even to the remotest places of Binga. Chibanda is one of the remotest villages in the Binga District of Zimbabwe. The place has no road but a path, no shops, no clinic, no electricity, no network and the like. Their mode of transport are donkeys which they call “Peugeot” We left our truck at the pastor’s home near the main road and walked through a high hill. It took us one hour to climb the rocky hill. It was not an easy journey especially for women with babies at their backs and bags on their heads. When we were up the hill our legs were shivering. It took us 4 hours to reach the place. We were really exhausted! The crusade was fruitful. 3 people surrendered their lives to Christ. We were unable to baptize them because there was no pool of water nearby. They will be baptized next week at Mabobolo. We had counseling sessions with different people with different problems. I was a little bit shocked with a certain woman who was haunted by her deceased mother. She said she has been cursed by her mother that whatever she does or plans does not prosper/succeed. We took a lengthy time showing her some scriptures about the works of the devil and giving her hope that God will certainly set her free through praying and fasting. We encouraged her to believe that the curse will be broken in the Name of the Lord.
I have been to Dongamuse village where I proposed another Bio-sand water filtration project. I talked to the local authorities such as the Chief, Health Technicians, Counselor, Village Heads and the Church. They were very excited about the project. The Counselor said he would talk to the Local Government Officials about the water project. I hope they are going to accept it. I am still waiting for the feedback from the Counselor. The villagers use unsafe water from the dams, wells and boreholes. Animals and people drink from the same sources of water. This makes people vulnerable to diseases like diarrhea.
