I and my brother John had a trip to Manseme village on a mission to service the grinding mill.We arrived very early in the morning and without wasting time we began changing oil, fuel, water and the like. We hoped to return to Hwange that very day. While we were still fixing the grinding mill, we were interrupted by someone calling us into a small hut. As we entered into the hut we saw a young man lying on the bed. We could tell he was very sick and could hardly speak. We began praying for the boy for at least two hours. We decided not to return to Hwange so that we could continue praying for the boy at night. It was apparent that he was attacked by spirits. At midnight the evil spirit manifested itself and it was cast out in the name of our Lord. Evil spirits are real and torment many people in their lives. The Apostle Paul is true when he says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the high places, ” Eph 6:12. Evil spirits can cause many terrible things in our lives if we lack personal intimate relationship with God. They can cause dysfunctional marriages, illnesses and deaths, failure and misfortunes in life. I am strengthened by Paul’s encouragement, “Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might,” Eph 6:10. We become conquerors only through God’s power and help.
