August Report
July and August have been very busy months for me attending several important conferences at regional and national level. I don’t regret because they were worth attending for my personal and other people’s spiritual benefits. I had a successful trip to South Africa. It was good for me to be out of the country for at least a couple of days. It was like going out for a furlough.
I went to Gweru as a regional representative of our Churches to attend a National Council which is held annually. Eleven regions nationwide were represented. It was good to hear wonderful progresses our Churches are achieving and challenges our Churches are facing despite of political and economic hardships. It was unbelievable that $34 000 has been pledged toward the building of Somabhula National Center. The government had asked us to build a School for the community before we begin building the Center. So far two blocks for classrooms and one house for teachers have been completed. One block and a house are yet to be built then we will be in a position to build the center. A lot has been discussed.
After the National Council Meeting I proceeded to Somabhula to attend National Pastors Seminar where I was joined by John Sandu and Misheck Mudenda. We had a vibrant Guest speaker from the Baptist Church. He boldly spoke how the Churches can actively get involved in bringing national peace and unity. Every morning during our devotions we fervently prayed for peace, unity and stability of the country. We hope things will be better for all Zimbabweans.
Two days later, we had National Conference at the same place. About 800 brothers and sisters all over the country gathered together. The conference was really inspiring. We had great and motivating Worship Team. We were indeed led to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit amongst us. There was great music and dancing for the Lord. Brother John Sandu was scheduled to preach on a Sunday Service. He preached very well though he was so afraid to preach at a National level for the first time. I was also scheduled to present how my projects are making impact in marginalized communities. They appreciated efforts and impact of the projects for the villagers. We wish we will get local support too for our projects.
We had our August Annual Conference as from 23-27 August. This conference was attended by 400 brothers and sisters across Binga. Many were unable to come because of financial restriction for travelling and food contribution. We are so thankful that we had enough food for those who made it. 18 goats and a cow were slaughtered. Our theme for the conference was: “Walking in the footsteps of our Lord; 1Pet 2:21”. We were so blessed both materially and spiritually. Timothy, my son worked very hard transporting people to the Conference center throughout the night. He has zeal to work for the Lord.
