January report – 2018

There was a National Pastors Preaching summit in Gweru for three days. It was my pleasure and honour to attend it. It was indeed worthwhile for me to attend it because it allowed me to meet with my old friend and college mates. It was great to hear how God is using each of us in the pastoral ministry. It was so encouraging and motivating. I shared how the Lord is using me in leadership seminars, crusades, conferences and water projects. Many have been so motivated to come to Binga and attend some of the conferences.
There has been no rain for the past two months. It has been very hot and dry. Crops have been badly affected leaving us without hope. In certain areas some people have driven their domestic animals into their fields to graze scotched crops. By this time of the year people used to eat greens from their fields. The NGOs such as The Save the Children have started their feeding schemes in Schools and villages. Elderly people in rural areas are being allocated bags of maize for their survival. It is so pathetic that people are already suffering from hunger by the beginning of the year. I have been receiving phone calls and letters from Churches encouraging me to look for individuals, Churches and organizations who might be interested in humanitarian aid. From the past experience we had more people coming to Church and receiving Jesus as their Lord during hard times of drought.
We have been receiving rains for the past 3 days. I hope we are going to have enough water for drinking and other domestic uses. I pray that it continues raining so that we can start planting again. This morning I saw some farmers planting maize seeds. As farmers we don’t have to quickly lose hope. May we continue to pray for rain.
