July newsletter 2013
Friends in Christ We resumed our Crusades in July. We are continuing with our theme on Church Growth. Our goal is to develop strong and effective leadership in the Churches which will effectively run the body of Christ and expand it to all corners of Binga and even beyond. We are also teaching the congregations to realize that it is their responsibility to support the pastors, widows, orphans and the destitute. Although the Churches understand their responsibility to support God’s people but are failing because of high unemployment rate and perpetual drought in Zimbabwe. Our Crusade in Gwangwaliba was very fruitful. Demons were cast out and sick people were healed in the mighty name of our Lord. The backsliders received counseling and re-dedicated their lives to Christ. A few people from the community attended the Crusade because they were afraid of political parties campaigning for presidential election. We were given very strict conditions by the authorities during the crusade. We had to cancel off the other Crusade. We had several complications on our trip. We traveled about 134km on gravel road away from the tarred road. The road was bad indeed. It had big stones, potholes and colligations. We had a car breakdown as a result. The truck broke brake pads. We had to go back to Binga town to get the truck fixed. I paid $105 for the mechanic and new brake pads. On our way back to Hwange, we ran out of fuel. It was unfortunate that we could not get fuel on the filling stations. We finally got it on Black Market which was $15 per 5litres. I had no choice but to buy it. Water Project. First of all I want to express my sincere gratitude to all those who whole heartedly prayed and donated money for the project. I was able to purchase all the materials I needed for the project. We are now busy molding filters. It is a hard work but the team enjoys the work because they want people to drink/ use clean and safe water. The community, including the schools, is looking forward to receiving filters. We will definitely finish all 20 bags of cement by the end of August. We will need more cement and hose pipe. Food Project. I want to kindly thank IDES for their kindness and generosity for feeding the hungry Churches and some individual families here in Binga. This year we received inadequate rainfall and as a result the harvest was little. Pastor Mumpande is one of the beneficiaries of IDES food who absolutely harvested nothing because of the elephants which ate all his crops. Mrs Mungombe got her food storage and the bedroom burned to ashes while she was out of the home. I hope God will continue to take care of His beloved hungry people.
