November Report
Co-workers in Christ
November had several challenges which badly affected our programs. We were supposed to have a Church planting in Kabooma village on the 5th to 8th of Nov. The Church planting failed because of terrible drought in Binga. The brothers and sisters in Christ failed to make food contribution. Each and every one was busy looking for food for his or her family. Some team leaders had traveled to other places in search for maize from their relatives. Because of this challenge we cancelled off the Church planting. That was supposed to be our last Crusade of the year. Our first crusade next year will be at Kabooma village. I have great compassion for this village because it is still deeply engaged in worldly pleasures. Young and old people are heavily indulged in smoking, gambling, drinking beer and other questionable activities. There is a great need for us to take the Gospel of Christ for transformation of their lives.
We have been very disappointed by someone who stole our sieves for sand and small gravel. We were supposed to fill in filters with sand and small gravel so that people would start enjoying drinking safe and clean water. I looked for new sieves in Binga and Hwange hardware; unfortunately I couldn’t find the right sizes. I will be going to Zambia to buy them. In fact, the stolen sieves were bought in Zambia. This season we anticipated to use most of the water from many different sources because of theBiosand filters. Anyhow, by the time we shall resume our water project we shall still be having enough water in big dams, that is, if we shall have enough rain.
It is summer season here. Every farmer is busy clearing the field and planting seeds. As a farmer, I do not lose hope of rain. This year for the first time, I hired a tractor to till my land. I, Ellina and Timothy were busy planting maize, cucumbers, pumpkins and a few other seeds. We are looking forward to bumper harvest. We are beginning to receive showers of rain. It has been very hot here and the highest recorded room temperature so far is 48’. It has been unbearable for us, but I am sure some of you would enjoy this high temperature since most of you experience low temperatures.
