October report – 2018

I hope all of you are doing well both in spirit and in flesh. I and my family are doing quite well. I have attached my October Report and I apologize for not attaching any photo. I had left my camera at the house. I don’t understand why I forgot my camera. Maybe I am growing old!!
God be with you all.
Alec

We had an inspiring and motivating leadership seminar which commenced on 16 to 20 October. The seminar was attended by 40 leaders, that is, pastors, elders, deacons and their wives. Most of the leaders failed to attend the training because of hard economic situation we are currently facing. Prices have abnormally escalated in shops and in other places making life in general difficulty for every Zimbabwean. I give glory to God who enabled us to go through our meeting without failure. We had great lessons and discussions which were primarily intended for personal development and advancement of God’s Kingdom. I hope the leaders will continue to grow in wisdom and knowledge as they eagerly spread the Word of God in their communities and neighbourhood. One of the discussions we had was building a permanent structure for our leadership seminars and conferences. The idea was unanimously embraced and we have come up with small projects such as selling of our Mission Regalia, Church Report Books, and individuals making some contributions financially or in kind toward building the Centre. We have realized that some people after leadership conferences especially children have terrible flue and headaches because of sleeping on the open ground where we are affected by bad weather. Sleeping on the bare ground makes one exposed to animals and snakes at night. I hope next year will be God’s good timing to commence building our centre.
On the 22nd of October I conducted a funeral at Lubu in Binga. The funeral went on very well and the sermon was very touching. After the funeral service several villagers approached me and asked if I would come back and plant a Church. I said to them that I would think and pray about it.
Hunger is at its peak in some of the villages in Binga District. Bwizu village is one of the villages which is badly affected by hunger. They had harvested very little, equally nothing. One Christian family asked me if I could bring maize and sell it to the villagers. I had two and a half tonnes of maize from my grinding mill which I wanted to sell to the Grain Marketing Board. We drove a pick up and made three trips. On the way we had two punctures in including the spare wheel. We were stuck in the hills for the whole day. Finally I had to phone my wife from Hwange to send me 2 tires which I had just bought from Botswana. We walked about 20km to the main road where we collected the tires and got them put on rims. On our way back we got a lift. We were tired indeed, but most importantly we were happy that our journey was a successful one. I hope several families will benefit from maize.
